All of our chapters are AACSB and/or EQUIS accredited. There are over 300 chapters on college and university campuses with over 300,000 members initiated since Beta Alpha Psi's formation. Each year, VITA provides volunteers with IRS-certified training sessions, where students learn about the tax practice and engage themselves in real-world tax preparation. The SFSU VITA program is one of the largest volunteer programs at San Francisco State and one of the largest VITA sites in the United States, with the assistance of approximately 100 IRS-certified student volunteers every tax season. VITA also prepares tax returns for international students with either F-1 or J-1 visas. VITA’s mission is to provide assistance to individuals who cannot afford the services of a paid professional tax preparer. VITA is a national IRS program that provides free tax return preparation to individuals who are low-income, elderly, disabled, or have limited English proficiency. Volunteers in Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Lam Family College of Business students are invited to distribute their resume, meet recruiters, learn about job openings, including internships and leadership programs, and make professional connections at this event, which is held in both fall and spring semesters. Meet the Firms invites representatives from notable financial information organizations in the public, private, and government sectors to discuss career opportunities one-on-one with students and recent alumni of the accounting, finance, information systems, and decision sciences disciplines. * Undergraduate students may be admitted as affiliate members prior to completing an upper division course, after which they will have the opportunity to advance to candidacy. Undergraduate students must have completed at least one upper division course within declared concentration, beyond the business core courses, with a grade of B or better*. ![]() Have at least two semesters left to complete at SFSU (fall and spring terms only).Declared major or concentration in accounting, finance, information systems, or decision sciences.Undergraduate students who meet the following criteria are eligible to join Beta Alpha Psi: All students are evaluated on an individual basis. While strictly a student organization, professionals and academics have the opportunity to be honorary members if initiated by a student chapter It has been recognized as a Superior Chapter annually for approximately 25 years for its outstanding efforts in leadership, academic excellence, professional development and commitment to ethics. Beta Alpha Psi’s Beta Chi Chapter at San Francisco State University has existed continuously since 1964.
